NBA scout: 'He can shoot from anywhere'
DeKALB – Northern Illinois point guard Eugene German has earned his second NBA pre-draft workout, a team source confirmed Monday.
“He can shoot from anywhere,” said a veteran NBA scout who watched German this past season. “The league will always need shooters, especially with how the way the game is played now.
"I could see him fitting in with the G-league and making an opportunity."

The 6-foot, 175-pound rising junior, will workout for the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. German also has a workout scheduled Thursday with the Chicago Bulls.
German, a native of Gary, Indiana, led the Mid-American Conference in scoring with 20.6 points per game. He scored in double figures during all 32 games of the 2017-18 season. His 659 points last season are the third most in a single season in NIU history.
"I know I can compete with anyone at that level," German said during an interview with the Daily Chronicle in April. "I feel like I can get feedback and see how things go. I can find out what I need to work on. If things go south, I can always come back to school."
German announced at the end of the season his intention to declare for the 2018 NBA Draft, without hiring an agent, maintaining his ability to return to college.
The deadline to withdraw from the draft for players who haven’t hired an agent is May 30.
NIU coach Mark Montgomery applauded German's progression at the end of the 2017-18 season.
"He's a scoring point guard," Montgomery said. "He finds guys and sets up guys. He creates off the bounce and gets to the hoop when he wants."
