Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin today held talks on various international and domestic issues of mutual interest in Sochi.
Both leaders also discussed steps to strengthen deep and long standing bilateral ties during their one and one talks at Bocharov Ruchey.
Bocharov Ruchey is the summer residence of the President of Russia. Mr Modi expressed satisfaction that both countries which have historically strong ties are working at various multilateral platforms like Shanghai Cooperation Organisation,SCO, BRICS and North-South Corridor.
The Prime Minister said, this informal summit will further deepen relations between the two countries.
Earlier, welcoming the Prime Minister in Sochi, the Russian President dubbed Mr Modi as a big friend of Russia and thanked him for accepting the invitation.
Mr Putin said, India and Russia have strong ties. He mentioned well established connections between military agencies of both countries. Mr Putin also appreciated the recent rapid growth in bilateral trade.
