AIR correspondent reports, lakhs of patients in state are getting cheaper medicines on medical stores called ‘Jan Aushadhi Kendras’ run under the Central government’s ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana’.

At Mau District’s Jan Aushadhi Kendra one patient told AIR that here they get medicines 50 to 90 percent cheaper than the market rate.

These Jan Aushadhi Kendras are not only selling generic medicines but also providing employment to the educated youth in state.

More than five hundred such Jan Aushadhi Kendras running in the state are ensuring availability of quality and affordable health service to the poorest of the poor.
