On Sunday night, an Amherst police officer on patrol saw a light blue vehicle sitting on South Main Street near Waughs Ferry Road. The vehicle left the area and continued down Main Street. The officer followed the vehicle near Ambriar Shopping Center and saw the front passenger’s door open; it appeared as if someone was trying to jump out of the moving vehicle, the police department said.
When the officer stopped the vehicle, the front passenger got out and ran to the officer for help.
The police department said the victim was treated at the scene and released. The police department did not release details on the victim’s identity, injuries or what the victim reportedly was robbed of.
All of the people involved knew each other, and there is no danger to the public, the police department said.
The three arrested are held without bond.
