Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced upgradation of Madhusudan Law College in Cuttack into a university.
"Steps have been taken at the government level to declare Madhusudan Law College as a Law University," the chief minister said at the state executive meeting of BJDs Legal Front here.
Patnaik further said that the Advocates Welfare Fund in the state would be enhanced from the present Rs 3 crore to Rs 5 crore from next year.
The state government also plans to set up an advocates' academy for training and skill development of lawyers, said the chief minister.
