Where Burgan Bank signed a partnership agreement with Autism Partnership Kuwait, to help the center achieving its objectives, as well to support many humanitarian causes further solidifying its role as a catalyst for positive change in society.
Through the partnership with Autism Partnership Kuwait, Burgan Bank aims to raise awareness about the seriousness of autism and highlight the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention. This partnership is part of Burgan Bank’s dynamic Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that strives to deliver meaningful change in the lives of all segments of society.
Autism is a severe disruption of the normal development process and is often diagnosed within the first few years. Viewed as a spectrum or a continuum of disorders, with varying degrees of severity and levels of functioning, the major symptom is identified with the difficulty in interacting with other people. Those with autism exhibit different emotions and reactions and can occasionally be temperamental, accompanied with the inability to speak.
This initiative falls in line with Burgan Bank’s objective to advance the development of healthcare within such facilities and ensure the children reach their full potential through optimal care to lead a productive and promising life.
Founded in 1994, Autism Partnership, also known as “AP”, is a worldwide authority for the behavioral treatment of autism and one of the largest and most established service providers for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. The Autism Partnership Center in Kuwait is humanitarian center established in December 2015 to contribute to the rehabilitation and treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and to meet the growing need to provide treatment opportunities for autism within the Kuwaiti community over the past few years. Autism Partnership Kuwait provides a wide range of services for Children with ASD and their families, as well for professionals involved in the treatment and education of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). (APK) is the only branch in the Arab and Middle East region that represents the US Autism Partnership Foundation among nine other global branches.
It is worth mentioning that Burgan Bank had previously sponsored ‘The 2016 Autism Walkathon’ organized by Autism Partnership Kuwait. The event was held to emphasize the value of voluntary work and on autism in general.
Burgan Bank's support to this initiative falls under its recently launched full-fledged community program entitled ‘ENGAGE’ – Together to be the change. This program sheds light on important aspects affecting every segment of the society by promoting social welfare through educational, cultural, social and health initiatives. Burgan Bank’s approach to 'ENGAGE' begins with a vital principle that as a Kuwaiti financial institution, its conduct and policies should be aligned with the needs and interests of the Kuwaiti society.
