Yogi government committed to restoring law

Warning officials to rein in the food and mining mafia, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that his government was committed to restoring law of the land and if any one was found to be lax in implementing policies, then strict action would be initiated against him.

Addressing a rally after inaugurating a series of projects in Gonda, Yogi said that the region was infamous for operation of mafia whose indulgence in looting government exchequer was no longer a secret.

“This government is committed to breaking the backbone of mafia raj. In the last one year, we have successfully smashed many nexus and now the mafia raj of Gonda is on target,” Yogi said in a function held at Asharfabad on Friday.

The CM inaugurated projects worth Rs 57.13 crore which included construction of roads and improvement in infrastructure. He also laid the foundation of five big projects worth Rs 172.33 crore in the district. 

Yogi also declared four Van Tangia villages inhabited by 112 families as revenue villages and asked officials to extend all basic facilities to the villagers. All four villages - Butahini, Asarfabad, Manipur Grant and Ramgarh are in Gonda district.

“The government is committed to the welfare of the people. We want that the last man in the line should also get the benefit. It is the duty of officials to ensure that the targeted beneficiaries got government benefit. Improve the delivery system. If you are unable to do that, tell me I will post you outside the district,” the CM said tersely.

Yogi said that in the last one year, the state government started a series of welfare schemes. “We are the ones who waived of farmers’ loans. We provided free power connections to people living Below Poverty Line. In the last one year, over 10 lakh BPL families got houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana,” he said.

“We have also allowed farmers to take 10 trolleys of mud from their field for personal use. Earlier, mining officials used to harass them. Now if he is harassed by officials, action will be taken against the latter,” Yogi said.

Later, the CM did an aerial survey of Elgin Charsandhi dam which was being repaired to control the fury of Ghaghra river. He inspected dredging work and issued directions to officials.
