Ujjain : A fire that burnt down a house in Vallabh Nagar at Udayan Marg on Friday, where the charred body of a woman was found, was not an accident, but a murder, by a paramour of the dead woman, police sources revealed.
According to details that cropped up after a police investigation, Dilip alias Deepak Sharma, hired a house on rent, where he lived along with his live-in partner Deepa Verma (35). Their rental agreement, however stated that they were married. Madhav Nagar police station, TI, Gagansingh Badal said the autopsy report of the woman had clarified that she was stabbed before being burnt. The police, on the basis of information received by its informers arrested the accused, Dharmendra Gehlot (28), a resident of Chandesara village, on Dewas Road.
According to Madhav Nagar police authorities, Gehlot had visited the rented house of the deceased and admitted to his relation with her to the police. In his statement he told the police that he had maintained this relationship for the past four years.
According to the police, on the day of the incident, a tiff between Deepa and the accused resulted in the latter stabbing her in a fit of rage on her torso and hands with a kitchen knife, eventually burning her, and later dumping her body under the mattress.
The police also recovered blood splattered clothes of the accused. The police registered an FIR under Section 302 and 201 against the accused for stabbing and burning the deceased as well as attempting to hide evidence.
Youth killed over love affair
Ujjain : Three days after the body of a youth was found near Badarkha village on Tarana Road, his father Kailash Malviya identified his son, Abhishek Malviya, a resident of Brij Nagar.
After investigation, the police confirmed that the deceased was last seen with Tejas alias Jata. During the investigation Tejas admitted that he had provoked his friend Rajesh Mali to kill Abhishek. Mali and Abhishek apparently had an affair with the same girl, which had led to the murder.
Investigation reports suggested that Mali and Tejas took Abhishek to a secluded place under some pretext near Badarkha village and strangled him with a piece of cloth. The police registered an FIR against Rajesh Mali and Tejas alias Jata under Section 302 of the IPC.
