Students who were enrolled full-time during the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters at Kishwaukee College may be eligible for Pell Grant funding if they are enrolled for at least six credit hours this summer.

Students may have summer Pell eligibility for the amount of their full-time eligibility for one semester. If the student was awarded a full-time Pell grant of $4,000 for the year, for example, they would now be eligible for up to another $2,000 in the summer if enrolled in 12 credits and $1,000 if enrolled in 6 credits, according to a news release.

Students can apply for the Federal Pell Grant Program by filing a 2017-2018 FAFSA at fafsa.gov. Once a student’s FAFSA is processed and the student is registered for summer courses at Kishwaukee College, the Financial Aid Office will determine the amount of Pell Grant the student is eligible to receive.

Students who did not use all of their Pell Grant this last school year also may use remaining funds toward summer classes for no minimum credits required.
