A fire was reported in New Jainish Hosiery in Bindra colony on Saturday morning at around 6.55am. The fire brigade had to struggle hard to control the fire. Around 50 fire tenders were used to tame the blaze. An explosion in a boiler and an LPG cylinder doubled up problems for firemen who were already struggling to douse the fire.
Assistant divisional fire officer Bhupinder Singh said the fire spread in the factory very quickly and flames made it hard for the firemen to control the situation. There was also a blast in boiler inside the factory.

Laddi Makkar, one of the owners suffered minor burn injuries as he was sleeping on third floor of the factory.
