Dharamshala to get a facelift under Smart City project

Mega project project Rs 2,100 crore for Dharamshala town would give it a facelift and provide world standard basic amenities to the residents of the town as well as tourists visiting the place, Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Friday.

Reviewing the progress on Smart City Project Dharamshala, in a meeting here, the chief minister said that augmentation and automation at source and plant for water supply schemes had been completed by spending Rs. 29.73 crore. He said that work was in progress regarding e-nagarpalika under which the masses would be provided digitalized public services.

Chief Minister said the Smart City would have 228 CCTV cameras, environmental sensors at four locations and Public Addressing systems at 10 locations.

Thakur said smart roads and Place making, including smart street lights, utility ducts and foot path would be developed under the project. He said that feasibility report of sample stretch of three kilometers road has been prepared. He said that smart kiosks would be installed at 33 places and integrated online parking management system would be provided at 22 locations to facilitate the people.
