A clean sweep.

On Friday afternoon from the Brookwood Athletic Complex the host Pioneers swept up a pair of Division 3 regional titles.

On the boys side Clare finished first in the 146.25 points while Chesaning was second with 89.25 and Ithaca was third with 80.

The regional crown was the fourth in a row for Adam Burhans and company.

“We represented on our home track well today,” said Burhans. “We wanted to go out on a high note and we did.”

Xavier Martin won the 200 (22.23) for the hosts while the team of Jake Hawley, Colt Smedley, Martin and Brenden Sersaw won the 400 relay (44.06) and 800 relay (1:30.28). The team of Sersaw, Smedley, Justin Tickle and Martin won the 1,600 relay (3:31.44) while Noah Nivison won the discus (157-10).

Ithaca’s Ransom Allen won the 3,200 (9:46.89) while Derek Pendell won the 110 hurdles (15.83) and 300 hurdles (41.98).Baylee Chaffin also won the shot put (57-5).

On the girls side Clare won it with 123 points while St. Charles was second with 91 and Shepherd was third with 76.

It was their fifth-straight regional title.

“I’m extremely proud of what this group has accomplished,” said Clare girls coach Kyle McKown. “We knew we had to be at our best because it was that difficult and we were.”

Lainey Veenkant won the 3,200 (11:33.44) for the Pioneers to lead the way.

Farwell’s Jenna Odykirk won the 100 (12.84), 200 (26.08) and 400 (1:01.27) while teammate Lizzie Albaugh won the shot put (40-4.5). Shepherd’s Amber Gall won the 800 (2:16.99) and 1,600 (5:10.66) while the team of Angie Yuncker, Ellie Moeggenberg, Amelia Gouin and Gall won the 1,600 relay (4:12.41). The team of Madde Skeel, Haley Hegenauer, Gouin and Gall also won the 3,200 relay (9:58.15)
