
Leishman sets Nelson mark
He breaks 36-hole tourney record with 127 to lead by 1; Spieth stays 8 shots back

Marc Leishman followed the best round of his PGA Tour career with a 5-under 66 at the AT&T Byron Nelson on Friday, breaking the 36-hole tournament record previously shared by Tiger Woods.
The Australian was at 15-under 127 for a one-stroke lead over Aaron Wise, the 21-year-old rookie who shot a bogey-free 63 at the new links-style Trinity Forest course.
Hometown star Jordan Spieth matched Leishman's 66 to remain eight shots back.
Leishman opened with a 61 in Trinity Forest's debut after the Nelson spent 35 years at the TPC Four Seasons. The par-70 course in suburban Irving is where Woods twice shot the previous record of 12-under 128, along with four others. Wise matched the 128 and was 14 under.
Brian Gay tied the best round of his tour career with a 62 and was two shots behind Leishman at 13 under.
Kevin Na (65), Eric Axley (65) and Jimmy Walker are 11 under.
Adam Scott, the 2013 Masters winner, is trying to avoid sectional qualifying for the U.S. Open to maintain a major streak that goes back to 2001. He shot a bogey-free 65 and is among five players at 10 under.
Defending champion Billy Horschel shot 69 and was 5 under. Hideki Matsuyama shot 63 to reach 7 under. Sergio Garcia missed the cut at 1 under.
LPGA: In Gee Chun shot a 5-under 66 to take the lead in the suspended second round of the LPGA Tour's Kingsmill Championship. Austin Ernst (65) and Nasa Hataoka (66) were a stroke back after bogey-free rounds. Ariya Jutanugarn (67) and Angel Yin (66) were two shots back, and Megan Khang (67) was three strokes behind. Jessica Korda also was three shots back with four holes to play to complete her second round. Brooke Henderson had a 65 and was four shots behind. Defending champion Lexi Thompson (69) and three-time winner Cristie Kerr (68) were 3 under.
Champions: Gene Sauers shot a 5-under 67 to move into a first-place tie with Miguel Angel Jimenez in the second round of the Regions Tradition, the first of five PGA Tour Champions majors. Sauers completed his second straight bogey-free round to finish at 11-under 133. Jimenez had four birdies for a 69 at Greystone Golf & Country Club, a day after matching the course record with a 64. Jerry Kelly, Kevin Sutherland and Scott McCarron are two strokes back going into the weekend. Kelly shot 69, McCarron 68 and Sutherland 66. Sutherland and McCarron had eagles. Sutherland had a bogey-free round.
PGA European: Jorge Campillo of Spain led the field after two days of stroke-play qualifying at the Belgian Knockout tournament. Campillo finished at 8-under-par 134 to hold a one-stroke lead over James Heath of England. Local favorite Thomas Detry was in a five-way tie a further shot behind. The top 64 players at the Antwerp event go into 9-hole knockout stroke-play matches at the weekend.
