MLAs of Congress, JD (S) save democracy: TPCC chief

The Pradesh Committee (TPCC) today hailed BS Yeddyurappa's resignation and termed it as a 'great victory' of democracy.

"I salute the MLAs of and JD(S) for saving democracy. They did not get lured by sops offered by nor did they feel intimidated," TPCC said in a statement here.

Although they got elected as MLAs only four days ago, the and JD(S) legislators have proved that the people have made the right choice, he said.

The people have defeated in the electoral battle. By reducing Yeddyurappa to 'ek din ka sultan' (for a day), they have defeated the wrong aspirations and ambitions of Modi and chief to grab power at all costs, he alleged.

Nothing can stop from becoming the prime minister now as the the whole country has witnessed that the Congress scion has the strength and conviction to defeat the designs of and Modi, he added.
