Rose Matafeo stars in Funny Girls as well.
She is most famous for her television series Funny Girls, now in its third season, which also stars Laura Daniels, Kimberley Crossman and Brynley Stent.
She performed Horndog in Melbourne earlier last month. A reviewer for The Herald Sun said she was "a delight from start to finish".
"With the charm of Lehmo and the warmth of Celia Pacquola this show is a hoot. Stand-up, sketches and a surprising amount of karaoke (don't worry, no audience participation) pay off in a physically intense hour of roaring laughs," the review read.
The finalists will perform at Last Laughs in Auckland on Sunday for the title of "Best New Zealand Show" in the 2018 NZ International Comedy Festival.
The Fred (a Golden Gumboot award) was introduced in 2006 and recognises the festival's best show by a New Zealand comedian. It was named in honour of the late comedy icon John Clarke's legendary Kiwi character Fred Dagg,
