Betty Kepley Ford stepped into eternity to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Betty was born on September 12, 1929, in Lexington, N.C., to James Henderson and Mollie Louia Kepley. She was married to James R. Ford Jr. of Appomattox, Va., who predeceased her. Survivors include four children, Susan Wilkerson (Jimmy), Ringgold, Va., Tom Ford (Evelyn), Appomattox, Va., Sherry Owens (Steve), Lexington, N.C., and John Ford (Carol), Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters, Laura Kepley Williams and Sarah Lynch of Lexington, N.C.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with a sixth on the way. Betty was an accountant with her last job being the County Registrar for Appomattox County. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Appomattox chapter where she served a term as worthy matron. She loved cooking for family and friends and crafts of all sorts. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Appomattox. She was a resident of Roman Eagle Nursing home from April 2016 until her death. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at 3 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel conducted by the Rev. Duane Caldwell. There will be a Celebration of Life reception at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 415 Oakleigh Avenue, Appomattox, VA 24522 at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018. Visitors are welcome at the home of Susan, 1064 Barker Rd., Ringgold or Tom Ford, 2834 Purdham Mill Rd., Appomattox, Va. The family would like to thank the staff of Roman Eagle for her excellent care, especially her devoted CNA, Patti Griggs.
