Chris Lynn scored his third half-century to keep Kolkata Knght Riders on course in a 173-run chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 match here on Saturday.(SRH vs KKR live updates)

He reached the 50-run mark in 37 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. (SRH vs KKR live scorecard)

Needing a win to qualify for the playoffs, Lynn and Sunil Narine started the chase in the right earnet. Lynn started the onslaught hitting Bhuvneshwar Kumar for two fours in the first over itself.

Narine, at the other end was not silent either, as he hit Sandeep Sharma for three fours and one six to take 20 runs in the second over.

Lynn then went after Siddarth Kaul in the third over, hitting him a huge six and a four as KKR reached 41/0 in three overs. Though Narine (29) fell in the fourth over Lynn continued to go for the big shots with Robin Uthappa for company.

When the boundaries stopped, Lynn ran hard to keep the scorecard moving. He got his forst six off Carlos Brathwaite in the eighth over as his mistimed went over deep midwicket.

Courtesy Lynn’s responsible knock, KKR reached 90/1 in 10 overs. Lynn completed his half-century with another six off Sandeep Sharma in the 11th over.
