Harry weds Meghan: 'Love knows no boundary', finally agrees the royal family!

When Prince Harry met Meghan Markle they had no idea that they will soon be creating history. Love happened between two most unlikely people—a British prince and an American actress who is a divorcee.
Are the English royalties finally agreeing to what Bob Dylan said decades back—‘The times, they are a-changin(g)’? While we will come to that later, let’s relish the power of love through Prince Harry and Megan’s experience. Love was blind (almost literally) in Prince Harry’s case. The couple met on a blind date in early July last year. “We were introduced actually by a mutual friend,” said Harry during the couple’s first sit-down interview with the BBC.

During a photo shoot at the Kensington Palace gardens after the announcement of their engagement, Harry was asked when did he know Meghan was the one. He immediately replied, “The very first time we met”. His confident reply left us with no option but to believe it’s love at first sight. Isn’t this how love is supposed to happen? The magic that brings two strangers together when they meet for the first time.

However, Meghan made sure that the prince was a ‘nice’ and ‘kind’ man before she met him. “Because I’m from the States, you don’t grow up with the same understanding of the royal family," she explained during the BBC interview. "I didn’t know much about him, so the only thing that I had asked (our mutual friend) when she said that she wanted to set us up, was, 'Well is he nice?' Cause if he wasn't kind, it just didn’t seem like it would make sense." But there was no looking back after they met. She could see the man inside the shining armour and he won her with his niceness and kindness.



But the journey ahead wasn’t smooth. However, when the going gets touch the tough gets going—the couple stood strong when the world united to criticise them. Harry confirmed their relationship in a formal statement on Novemeber 8 last year. In the same statement, the prince also requested the press to stop the “wave of abuse and harassment” directed at Meghan.

“Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game - it is her life and his,” read the statement.

Seeing the volley of abuses directed at his brother and Meghan, the Duke of Cambridge Prince William stepped in. While numerous rumours were doing the rounds about how Prince Harry’s conduct has disappointed his elder brother, Prince William issued a statement putting an end to all the gossip that not all was well at the royal household.



And not to forget the scathing letter to Prince Harry from Meghan’s step brother Thomas Markle Jr. It seems an annoyed Thomas was trying to warn the Prince from marrying Meghan. “I'm confused why you don't see the real Meghan that the whole world now sees,” wrote Thomas. But all his venomous words fell on deaf ears as Prince Harry’s love for Meghan only grew stronger with every passing days.

It is the love story of a woman who fell in love with a man behind the Prince Charming. It is also the love story of a Prince who fell for a woman whose love was not just a mere act. And we wish they will live happily ever after!
