Bhopal: In a broad daylight robbery, three bike-borne miscreants assaulted petrol pump employees and escaped with Rs 2.40 lakh cash. The incident occurred near Prabhat Petrol under Aishbagh police station limits on Friday morning. Police said that Raja Petrol Pump employees Harendra Pal and Bunty Shakya, were heading to the bank to deposit cash at around 11.30 am when they were attacked and robbed by the miscreants.
Three bike-borne men waylaid the petrol pump employees and then assaulted them with bamboo sticks. The assailants escaped with the bag carrying Rs 2.40 lakh cash. The victims then reported the incident to Ashoka Garden police and later a complaint was filed.
Police said that the accused were probably aware of the cash deposit routine and had planned the loot. They targeted pump employees while they were heading with the cash. SHO of Ashoka Garden Sunil Shrivastava said that the miscreants attacked the employees with wooden stick and then escaped with the bag. One of the victims sustained injury on his head, he added.
The victim told police that like any other day they were heading to deposit the cash at bank when they were attacked by the miscreants. Police have registered a case under section 394 of the IPC and have started further investigation. The CCTV footages of the cameras installed in the nearby areas would be investigated.
