Three teenagers are spending the night in the cells after robbing a dairy.
And the speedy police dogs are getting the praise.
The males, aged 16, 17 and 19, entered the Carterton Dairy at about 9:30 Saturday morning, armed with a knife. They made off with cash and cigarettes, in a car, Police believe had been stolen earlier from Stokes Valley.
Eagle-eyed members of the public tipped police off with information about the trio, and within an hour and a half of the initial robbery, the Police dog located the three hiding in bushland.
Police arrested two of them, but one thought he could outrun the police dog.
He couldn't, and is tonight in the cells with his partners in crime.
All three will appear in Court on Monday charged with a number of offences including aggravated robbery.
"Thanks to everyone who helped us catch these three people," a statement from police said.
