Shankh Mahotsav celebrated with fervour

The two-day-long Shankh Mahotsav was celebrated with fervour on the occasion of District Establishment Day at BS College Stadium here on Friday.

Urban Development Minister Chandreshwar Prasad Singh said, “The Central and the State government are all concerned for the development. The poor and the labourers are getting their rights and honour. The govt is trying to fulfill the expectations of the people. The central govt is proving the gas connection free of cost under Ujjawal scheme. In Lohardaga 80 percents of gas connections have been provided. After 2019 along with toilet the bathrooms would also be constructed. Now the blue prints of development are being prepared with the villagers. The officers and the public leaders must be sensitive towards the problems of the people. In villages the animal husbandry must be encouraged. In the state a chain of roads is being prepared. Under PM Aawas plan houses are being provided to the poor. The plans are being run to double the income of the farmers. Till 2nd October the state would be declared ODF.”

DC Binod Kumar said, “The district is on the right track of development with the cooperation of the State and the Central Government.” The State head of Mati Kala board Srichand Prajapati and the vice head of 20 point programme Rakesh Prasad also addressed the gathering on the occasion.

Schemes worth Rs 2120.352 Lakh were inaugurated included inaugurations of 280.553 Lakhs and laying foundation of 735.934 Lakhs. A cultural programme was organized in the evening. Bollywood stars Aditya Narayan and   the singer Sumedha presented their programmes. The artists Loknath Lohra and Sanjeev Parihasth also presented their events to entertain the denizens.
