Water connections for all households in district

‘Proposals for ₹1,500-cr. project sent to govt.’

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Lalam Bhavani Bhaskar directed the officials to give wide adequate publicity when sanctioning loans through the S.C. Corporation and B.C. Corporation in the district.

Presiding over the 5th Standing Committee meeting here on Friday, the ZP Chairperson called upon the officials to secure the list of beneficiaries on time and sanction the loans.

Executive Director of the SC Corporation Mahalakshmi said modern machinery was being given in all mandals for desilting of drains. Bheemunipatnam ZPTC member S. Appa Rao said workers were not being given job cards for works done under NREGS.

In the 7th Standing Committee meeting, Pendurthy MLA Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy said all MLAs in the district should be informed of the development works being taken by the Zilla Parishad. Engineers of the Panchayat Raj Department said a survey was completed for provision of water tap connections to all households in the district. They said proposals for taking up the project with ₹1,500 crore was sent to the government.

Anakapalle MLA Peela Govind Satyanarayana wanted to know the reason for the delay in the repair of the groins at Thummapala. The officials told him that the repair work would be started soon.

Zilla Parishad CEO Jaiprakash Narayan said that the 4th and 6th Standing Committee meetings were being postponed as the members failed to turn up.
