Chelsea will try to salvage something from their disappointing season when they meet Manchester United in the FA Cup final tomorrow.

But according to reports from Spain, and passed on by the Daily Star, the Blues are already preparing to relaunch themselves next season by making a sensational swoop for Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian striker has been linked to Real Madrid in recent weeks, but it’s now claimed that Munich and Chelsea have also joined the chase - and undeterred by Liverpool’s £175m asking price, “all are ready to pay the fee in full”.

The Reds are understandably reluctant to sell their record-breaking goalscorer, but Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly so disappointed with how his team have fared this season that he’s willing to produce the necessary readies to take Salah from Anfield.

That would be ironic, given that Salah spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge between 2014 and 2016, making just 13 appearances before being sold to Roma for a laughable £12m.

Dortmund target Morata

Chelsea’s pursuit of Salah may explain why Borussia Dortmund are “planning a shock move” for Alvaro Morata, according to talkSPORT

The Chelsea striker was mooted as a Juventus target earlier in the week, but reports coming out of Germany suggest that the Bundesliga outfit have identified the Spanish sharpshooter as the man to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who they sold to Arsenal in January.

German tabloid Bild claim that Dortmund’s interest is genuine, and has increased since learning of Morata’s alleged inability to settle in London. All that remains is for the side to meet Chelsea’s asking price of £50m.
