The ACC announced kickoff times for the first three weeks of the upcoming football season on Friday, as well as game times and television networks for Thursday and Friday games.

Virginia opens the season against Richmond at home on Sept.1. The league announced that the matchup between the Cavaliers and Spiders will begin at 6 p.m. and air on ACC Network Extra.

The second week of the season, UVa plays at Indiana. The kickoff time and channel for that game is still to be determined since the Big Ten decides kickoff times for its league’s home games.

UVa will host Ohio at 3 p.m. on Sept. 15. That game will air on ACC Network Extra.

The Cavaliers also will host ACC Coastal Division rival Pittsburgh on Friday, Nov. 2. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Scott Stadium and be televised nationally on ESPN2. Virginia’s season-ending matchup with Virginia Tech on Friday, Nov. 23 was the only one of the five scheduled Friday night ACC games this upcoming season not to get an announced kickoff time and channel.

Following the first three weeks of the season, game times and TV network selections will be announced weekly, with the ACC's television partners making their choices utilizing a 12-day advance notice beginning Monday, Sept. 10 (for games on Saturday, Sept. 22).

Among other kickoff times announced by the ACC on Friday, James Madison’s season opener at North Carolina State on Sept. 1 will begin at noon and be nationally televised on ESPNU.

Virginia Tech, which opens the season at Florida State on Labor Day (8 p.m., ESPN), will host William & Mary on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. on ACC Network Extra, then host East Carolina on Sept. 15 at 12:20 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. The Hokies' Thursday night home game against Georgia Tech on Oct. 25 will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and air on ESPN.

ACC teams will be in action all five days of the opening weekend of the college football season, beginning with Wake Forest facing Tulane on Thursday, Aug. 30 (time and TV TBD). Duke’s season opener against Army, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 1, was moved to Friday, Aug. 31, and will be televised at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

Highlighting the Saturday, Sept. 1 slate for the ACC is Louisville’s matchup with defending national champion Alabama at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida (8 p.m., ABC).  Miami will take on LSU at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas, on Sunday, Sept. 2 (7:30 p.m., ABC), then Virginia Tech and Florida State wrap up the opening weekend on Monday, Sept. 3.
