Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati condemned the act of BJP and Rastriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) for insulting Constitutional norms and misusing the Rajbhawan and annoint BS Yeddyurappa as Chief Minister of Karnataka on Thursday.

“It is a conspiracy to attack the Constitution. From the day they came to power at the Centre, BJP has been misusing government machinery and trying to demolish democracy. After Goa, Manipur and Megahalaya, now the BJP has done it in Karnataka,” Mayawati said in a statement issued on Thursday.

The BSP boss said that the act of Rajbhawan has lowered its decorum and dignity beside weakening the Indian democracy.

“When the Congress-JD(S) and others including BSP had the numbers, then how could the Governor invite the BJP to form a government. Due to similar inappropriate action by Raj Bhawan, the BSP too had to suffer in Uttar Pradesh in the past,” she said.

Mayawati also came down heavily on the Congress over the prevailing political imbroglio in Karnataka. She cstigated the Congress brass for calling JD (S) the ‘B-team’ of BJP during poll rallies.

“Congress should not have made speeches in a rally that hampered votes of JD (S). This resulted in division of Muslims votes and resulting in BJP candidates winning in Muslim dominated areas,” she added.
