Mumbai: The committee members of the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) plan to bring a no-confidence motion in the next meeting against Surendra Badge, General Manager of the BEST. Despite the BEST facing a huge loss due to which they are losing commuters and also reducing the rounds of BEST buses in the city, the GM is said to be ignoring all these issues which need to be treated on a priority basis.
“There are several issues which GM is not taking seriously due to which all the committee member are frustrated and have decided to bring a no-confidence motion against him,” said Ravi Raja, Congress and BEST committee member. Another member added that the electronic ticket issuing machines (ETIMs) they introduced around seven years ago, with an intention to improving the ticketing system, have become redundant over the years. “Due to outdated Trimax machines (e-ticketing machine), BEST has faced huge loss and many other issues which BEST facing,” the member added.
One of the members said that the GM should be sent back to the state government as he wasn’t doing any work. “As Shiv Sena is in power in BMC as well as in BEST committee and still no action is being taken against the GM. Congress party will support Sena if they bring no-confidence motion as against the GM,” added Raja.
