Millions of people will tune in to watch the royal wedding on May 19, but Meghan Markle is used to that. The former actor was one of the core cast members of the legal drama Suits, inarguably her most prominent role. But in addition to playing Rachel Zane in 108 episodes, Markle’s career has been specked with bit parts for close to two decades.

Markle was born and raised in Hollywood - she was the daughter of a lighting director. She made her first appearance as a child actor on a Nickelodeon show and was even a model on the game show, Deal or No Deal.

She began appearing in guest roles on network TV beginning in the early 2000s, with appearances in CSI: NY, Century City and The War at Home. She continued playing small roles throughout her career, right up till the end. “I wasn’t black enough for the black roles and I wasn’t white enough for the white ones, leaving me somewhere in the middle as the ethnic chameleon who couldn’t book a job,” she wrote in a 2015 essay for Elle UK.

Here are a few of her film and TV appearances that you might have missed:

Horrible Bosses

Markle appeared in a quick cameo as a FedEx delivery girl deemed to be too cute for her job by Jason Sudeikis’ character.

A Lot Like Love

Markle appeared in one of the first of her many blink-and-you-miss-it appearances as a ‘hot girl’ in this romantic drama released back in 2005.

When Sparks Fly

One of Markle’s rare full-fledged roles wasn’t as mainstream as you’d expect. When Sparks Fly was a Hallmark Channel movie, and she made another for the channel, 2016’s Dater’s Handbook. The Hallmark Channel also aired the infamous William & Kate: The Movie, about Kate Middleton and Prince William’s romance.

A Random Encounter

This old romantic comedy, which was first released in 2013, is being re-released to capitalise on the Royal Wedding buzz. While Markle has a supporting role in the film, the new trailer makes it seem as if the entire film is about her - and it’s filled to the brim with royal family jokes.

Markle and Prince Harry will be married on May 19 at Windsor Castle, in a ceremony expected to be attended by over 600 guests. Among the Hollywood celebrities who have been invited, Priyanka Chopra is the sole Indian star. She is rumoured to be joined by a George and Amal Clooney, actors Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne and musicians Ed Sheeran and the Spice Girls.
