
Rudy Giuliani said Friday on CNN that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has agreed to narrow the scope of a potential interview with President Donald Trump from five topics to two.
Giuliani said Mueller is not considering asking Trump about his former personal attorney Michael Cohen, who is under investigation in New York over his business dealings. Giuliani said he could not go into much more detail, but that “the main focus we want is Russia.”
Rebuke for Trump on ZTE: Politico reports the House Appropriations Committee has attempted to reject the Trump administration’s efforts to help restore the U.S. operations of the Chinese telecom firm ZTE . Lawmakers from both parties agreed unanimously to include in an appropriations bill a provision that would uphold sanctions against the Chinese phone-maker, Politico said. The move came just days after President Trump revealed in a tweet that he has directed his administration to help put the company “back into business.”
Democrats raise more in April: Roll Call reports the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $11.2 million in April, exceeding its monthly fundraising total at the same point last cycle.
Nearly $3.1 million of the April haul came from online donations, with an average donation of $16, according to figures provided first to Roll Call. The $11.2 million total surpassed the $8.5 million the campaign arm of the House Democrats raised in April 2016, Roll Call said. Democrats see the massive cash intake as a sign that grass-roots energy is on their side heading into November’s midterm elections, Roll Call writes.
