Actor Chiyaan Vikram, who was last seen on screen in Pongal release Sketch, will return as the foul-mouthed cop Aarusaamy in Saamy Square, the sequel to Saamy. The project marks the reunion of Vikram and director Hari after a decade. Over the last few months, the film’s shooting has been taking place across various places in the country. The first glimpse of the film in the form of a motion poster was released on Thursday evening and going by the visuals, it can be said that the story starts in Tirunelveli and ends in New Delhi.

The motion poster features Vikram seated on what appears to be a milestone. On one side, it is written Tirunelveli and as the camera pans, we can read New Delhi written on the other side. The motion poster has been received very positively and in just over 12 hours it is closing in on half a million views. If everything goes as planned, the makers are hopeful of coming to the screens this Ramzan season.

Fresh of the success of Mahanati, Keerthy Suresh will be seen playing the leading lady. Trisha was also part of the project briefly, but she walked out citing creative indifferences. The film features Bobby Simhaa as the antagonist. It is rumored that he comes as the son of Kota Srinivasa Rao’s from the original. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad and is being bankrolled by Shibu Thameens, who had produced Vikram’s Iru Mugan.

We get the sense that the film begins in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu and will end in New Delhi. (YouTube Grab)
