Chennai brings in Ngidi in place of David Willey while Delhi plays Maxwell and Avesh in their side.

Chennai Super Kings has already qualified for the playoffs and is sitting pretty at second position. That didn’t stop the only team to successfully defend the IPL title from turning up for an optional practice session in searing heat on Thursday ahead of a dead rubber against Delhi Daredevils.

While captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave it a miss, the likes of Suresh Raina, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu didn’t. Rayudu and Watson have set the platform for CSK at the top this season with the former among the top five scorers and both having a century against their names.
