NEW DELHI: Karnataka Congress on Friday alleged that BJP leader G Janardhan Reddy is trying to "poach" a Congress MLA from Raichur by "offering money and post"

In an audio clip, released in front of the media, the Congress alleged that Reddy has claimed that he has the backing of BJP president Amit Shah "for doing horse-trading".

"Congress released an Audio clip where BJP leader Janaradhana Reddy is trying to lure Congress MLA from Raichur Rural by offering money and posts. Janaradhana Reddy clearly says he has the backing of BJP President Amit Shah for doing horse trading!" Karnataka Congress said in a tweet.

Within hours, the BJP dismissed the audio clips as "fake" and terms it a hadiwork of "Congress's dirty-trick department".

"This audio CD is one of the handiworks of Congress's dirty tricks department. This is a fake CD," : Union minister Prakash Javadekar on the audio, which was released by Congress, in which Janaradhana Reddy is allegedly trying to lure Congress MLA from Raichur Rural by offering him money.

The Karnataka unit of BJP mocked the audio clip , saying it was the work of a mimicry artist hired by the Congress.

"Dear Congressis, Who is the mimicry artist you hired to perform Janardhan Reddy's voice? He has done a pretty good job. Kindly share his coordinates. We would want to know if he can do a voiceover of Siddu & DKS as well. May be even we can release an audio tape! Thanks :) (sic)" Karnataka BJP said in a tweet.

The audio clip was released amidst allegations that BJP is trying to poach Congress and JD(S) MLAs who have been staying in a hotel in Hyderabad since today morning.

Yesterday night, MLAs of BJP and JD(S) had to move out of Bengaluru's Eagleton Resort where they had been staying to thwart alleged poaching attempts by BJP.
