Jenna Haskins will be the first softball coach at Olentangy Berlin High School, pending school board approval.
Haskins has been the coach at Olentangy Orange for two seasons and was an assistant with the Pioneers for four seasons before that under then-coach Bruce Leary.
“Just being with Jenna at Orange, I know what kind of person that she is,” said Berlin athletics director John Betz, who previously held the same position at Orange. “I’m comfortable with the way that she will be able to lead our girls on and off the softball field.”
The Pioneers finished 10-18 overall this spring and tied Westerville North and Westerville South for fourth (3-7) in the OCC-Buckeye Division behind champion Olentangy (8-2).
In Haskins’ two seasons at Orange, the team was 15-32 overall and 5-15 in the league.
Berlin opens in the fall.
