Madeline Naylor finished her stellar softball career at Rider by earning Catcher of the Year honors in the District 5-5A awards.

Naylor was a four-year starter behind the plate for the Lady Raiders and a three-time Red River Diamond Dozen nominee. Naylor will play at Lubbock Christian University next season.

Her senior teammate Jaida Vinson was named first-team all-district after handling second-base duties a majority of the season. Wichita Falls High School had two players named first team in seniors A.J. Briones and Kara Hernandez.

Two more Lady Coyotes were given second-team honors, including junior Emma Kuhrt and senior Abigail Henning. They were joined by Rider junior Carli Ward.

Denton Ryan dominated the district season and rightfully also dominated the awards. Sophomore Abby Buettner was named MVP, while senior Brianna Leeds took Pitcher of the Year.
