LEON — St. Mary’s-Colgan boys’ and girls’ track teams traveled to Leon-Bluestem High School to compete in the Class 2A Track and Field Regional on Thursday. The boys’ team finished in third place, scoring 66 points. The girls’ team finished with a team score of 59, slotting in at fifth.

Colgan had six athletes qualify for the state tournament. Sam Green qualified for state in the Boys’ Shot Put. Max Wilson qualified in the 100m Dash after winning the event. Wilson also qualified in the Javelin Throw. Kash Marietta qualified for state by winning the 110m Hurdles.

Catherine Farmer took first place in the Girls’ 400m Dash to earn a bid to state. Marci VanBecelaere also qualified in the 400m. Mary Grace Goetting qualified in the 1600m Run.

The boys’ and girls’ track team qualified for state in both the 4x800m and 4x100m Relays.
