Cole Hamels is hoping to be able to pitch Saturday against the White Sox, two days after missing a start because of neck stiffness.

The Rangers, who lost 4-2 on Thursday after giving up four unearned runs in the eighth, have no reason to rush bringing the lefthander back, though. If and when Texas GM Jon Daniels opts to trade off veterans for prospects this season, Hamels would be one of the Rangers' most sought-after players.

Matt Moore started Friday's game after moving up a day just like Doug Fister did because of Hamels getting scratched Thursday.
