The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre launched its new Convention Center

Part of the Muscat Madinat Al Irfan urban development, which is being set up by Oman Tourism Development Company or OMRAN, the executive arm for the development of the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

 
At present, the purpose built centre provides two ballrooms along with the largest ballroom in Oman, a 456 tiered-seat theatre, 22 meeting rooms along with already inaugurated exhibition centre.

 
The Junior Ballroom has the capacity to house over 540 guests for a banquet or 1,000 guests in theatre style as the Grand Ballroom has the capacity to accommodate 1,200 people for luxurious dinner or up to seven breakout areas for a convention.

 
Both the ballrooms have a column-free space with subtle Omani design details along with the very latest in audio-visual support. These new features balance the current five exhibition halls that have 22,396sqm of column-free exhibition space and 10 hospitality suites along with a multi-storey car park to provide space for 4,000 vehicles.

 
These new multi-purpose spaces are perfect for plenary sessions, conferences, concerts, performances and gala dinners.

 
The new area spans across 4,576sqm, the total event space currently has reached 48,632sqm. In a few months’ time, the final part of the jigsaw; the 3,200-seater theatre will also be opened for the first performance.

 
This year, OCEC expects a minimum of 270 events which include exhibitions, weddings, meetings, conferences and live events.
