‘CBI should probe TNPSC irregularities’

DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Thursday demanded a CBI inquiry monitored by the Madras High Court into the alleged irregularities in the Group-I examination conducted by the TNPSC.

He also demanded the immediate arrest of TNPSC officials and coaching centre staff, who he claimed were involved in the alleged irregularities.

“The irregularities paved the way for selection of candidates (from two coaching centres) for the post of RDOs and DSPs. The scandal has shattered the hopes of unemployed youth who have written the examinations,” he charged. He said 74 candidates from one coaching centre and 62 candidates from another centre had been selected for postings under Group-I.

“How did the question papers prepared by the TNPSC reach these two private coaching centres,” he asked, alleging that the police also suppressed the details collected during a raid at one of these centres.
