Minor raped, youth arrested

A minor girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Basavakalyan town in Bidar district on Thursday night. The accused was identified as Salahuddin.

The girl was begging near Raja Bagh Sawar Dargah in the town when the accused, Salauddin, lured her with money and took her to a nearby isolated place, police sources said. The people rushed to the spot and rescued the girl after she raised an alarm.

A case was registered under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 against the accused at Basavakalyan police station and he was arrested.
