Heavy rain in Lynchburg has forced the postponement of a Hillcats game for the third time this week, with the organization pushing back Friday’s series opener against Potomac.

On Friday, the Hillcats announced the game would be made up as part of a doubleheader later this season, but a time and date have not yet been determined.

The postponement marked the third straight day the ’Cats have been affected by rain.

Game 2 of the Hillcats’ series with Frederick was rescheduled from Tuesday to Wednesday as part of a doubleheader. On Wednesday, though, the teams were only able to play one seven-inning game before the rain caused another postponement. That game has not yet been rescheduled, either.

The Hillcats should be back in action Saturday, when they’re scheduled to take on Potomac at 6 p.m. They’ll close out the homestand Sunday before embarking on an eight-game road trip.
