Surat: Officials from Vector Born Disease Control (VBDC) department of state health department sealed construction site of Shubham Avenue on Surat-Abrama road in Varachha zonem during a surprise checking on Thursday.
The officials also recovered Rs 1.5 lakh fine for not maintaining hygienic environment at the construction site.
The check was ordered following orders from Surat municipal commissioner on May 16.
During checking possibilities of mosquito breeding was found and labourers were not provided with mosquito nets which is mandatory as per rules. Moreover, conditions on the site were found to be unhygienic. Insecticide was also sprayed on the site which was later sealed.
SMC officials also warned other construction site owners to keep hygienic environment at their respective sites.
