Sycamore and DeKalb police officers will be back on Dunkin' Donuts rooftops to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois from 5 a.m. to noon Friday.

DeKalb police will have officers on the rooftop of 1101 W. Lincoln Highway in DeKalb. Sycamore police will be on the rooftop of 1840 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore.

Police throughout Illinois will be on nearly 300 Dunkin' Donuts rooftops this year, according to a news release. Last year, officers in the state raised more than $700,000 during the event.

Any patron that donates this year to the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run, which benefits the Special Olympics, will receive a free doughnut coupon. Guests donating at least $10 will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug, while supplies last, and a coupon for a free medium coffee.

Other items, such as Torch Run T-shirts and raffle tickets, will be awarded for various donation amounts, according to the release.
