Puneite Mukta Barve surprised everyone with her cameo in Swwapnil Joshi-starrer Ranangan. The actor, who is shown as Shlok’s (Swwapnil’s character) mother in the film has interestingly always acted opposite the actor. “It was just a friendly appearance and the excitement of being a part of my friend’s film was more. There was no reason to refuse the part. Also, we did it as a surprise for our fans who are so used to seeing us romantically paired opposite each other. Here, however, we don’t share screen space but it was a fun element,” says Mukta.

The Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai (2010) actor, who celebrates her birthday today prefers to spend quiet time with family. “It is very funny how life changes, when I was a kid I would be so upset that my birthday would fall during the summer vacation. That would mean no celebration in school, no gifts, no chance to flaunt a new dress. And, now I literally run away from celebrations. Till last year, I was working on every birthday and it would turn into a huge celebration on the sets, with friends, etc. Endless calls and countless people would literally scare me.I prefer a quiet birthday with my parents,” says Mukta.

The actor will soon start shooting for the second schedule of director Satish Rajwade’s Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai 3. “I have shot for a film titled Y and another untitled film which will be out this year.”

Her last stint on television was the finite thriller-drama series Rudram. “I am always open to TV. Rudram was an exciting story and genre. It was a 75-episodic show so it helped balance my other commitments too. I can never say no to TV and really enjoy doing it.”
