COLONIE - State Police say they've made two arrests in a road rage incident that an alleged victim said included racial slurs and other threats.

Phillip O. Quandt Jr., 50, and Kristen P. Wright, 51, were each charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and menacing in connection with an incident troopers said took place on May 10.

Troopers said the incident began on the westbound side of Route 7 in the town of Colonie and continued onto the Northway, where another vehicle was damaged.

Natia Shim told WRGB-TV that she was riding in son Nace's car when the confrontation began. She said the vehicle was run off the road.

"They were yelling that they were the white supremacists and we 'n-words' do not belong in their country," Shim told the television station.

She said the men got out of the car and started hitting her son's vehicle with "baseball bats and a frying pan."

"It's a life-or-death situation, they threatened to kill us," she said.

Though two people were arrested, state troopers said the investigation is not over.

Quandt was sent to the Albany County jail on $10,000 bail. Wright was sent to the jail $5,000 bail.
