Mustard seed prices came down by Rs 19 to Rs 3,925 per quintal in futures trade today as participants cut down their holdings, taking weak cues from the physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for delivery in May month contracts receded by Rs 19 or 0.48 per cent to Rs 3,925 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,350 lots.
Mustard seed for delivery in June also weakened by Rs 15 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 3,953 per quintal, with business turnover of 1,10,950 lots.
Analysts said trimming of exposure by participants coupled with a weak trend at the spot markets on softening demand from oil mills pulled down mustard seed prices at futures trade.
