Royal wedding: Pictures show preparations for Harry and Meghan’s wedding

THE ROYAL WEDDING of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry takes place this Saturday and preparations are already taking place as Windsor gets ready for thousands of royal fans, eager to catch a glimpse of the royal couple on their wedding day, to descend on the town.

Thousands of people are expected to descend on the town of Windsor this weekend for the royal wedding of Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33.

Royal fans have already begun to camp along the procession route the bride and groom will take on their wedding day.

Look through this gallery to see the preparations taking place at Windsor Castle and the pretty English town of Windsor.

British and American flags can be seen in the streets near the castle as excitement builds for the big day.

Preparations include local residents placing pictures of the royal couple in their windows and pubs painting congratulation signs. Security barriers and portaloos have also been put in place ready for the crowds to arrive.

See pictures as the media gather to take their places and secure their camera positions on the Long Walk, the impressive three mile long avenue leading to Windsor Castle.

Floral designer Philippa Craddock, and Keeper of the Gardens, John Anderson can be seen choosing plants at Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park to be used in the floral displays at St George's Chapel.
