Indore: DAVV to prepare MP Vision 2030 plan for sustainable development goals

Indore: The state government has asked Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya to prepare Madhya Pradesh Vision 2030 document that focuses on sustainable development goals (SDGs). The Madhya Pradesh State Planning Commission Chair at DAVV will prepare the vision document on 17 sustainable development goals by May 31 this year after which it will be submitted to state government for implementation.

This was revealed at the meeting of DAVV’s executive council held on Wednesday. The duration of head of the state planning commission chair Dr Ganesh Kawadia has also been extended till September on state government’s recommendations.

The university’s executive council has also approved the proposal placed by executive council member VB Gupta regarding formation of admission cell at the university. “The admission cell will be responsible for all the admissions in the university teaching departments. All the entrance tests including common entrance test, departmental level test, doctoral entrance test and M Phil test will be conducted by this cell,” Gupta said.

The council also took a note of EC member Alok Dawar’s advice that sub centres at 12 government colleges for evaluation work should have been set up only after approval from academic council and executive council. In response, DAVV vice-chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad said the decision to set up sub centres was taken at eleventh hour due to administrative compulsion. He agreed to obtain consent from academic council and executive council.
