Indy 500: When is it? Live stream, TV channel, start time, qualifying schedule
INDY 500 is one of motor sport’s greatest events and winning it is an achievement that goes down in history - so here’s everything you need to know about the famous race.

When is the Indy 500?
The race in Indianapolis is the culmination of nearly two weeks’ worth of events. There are four days of practice on the famous oval ahead of qualifying, which runs on May 19-20.
The pole-sitter is decided on “Pole Day”, which takes place on Sunday May 20.
There are then two more practice sessions on Monday May 21 and Friday May 25 ahead of the race itself on Sunday May 27, getting underway at 12.19pm local time - or 5.19pm in the UK.
Indy 500 TV channel
Just as it was last year when two-time F1 world champion Fernando Alonso made his dramatic debut in the race, Indy 500 will be shown on BT Sport in the UK.
There will be live coverage of both qualifying sessions as well the race itself.
