
State police investigating car thefts in Washington

The Washington Resident Troopers Office is investigating several reported car thefts from driveways in Washington Depot.
Some of the stolen cars were unlocked with the keys accessible, according to a press release from State Police.
Three cars were reported stolen on Thursday.
A black 2002 Mercedes Benz C240 was stolen from the driveway of a home on Hinkle Road and abandoned a short distance down Hinkle Road. A black 2009 Volkswagen Jetta and a silver 2010 Honda Accord were both taken from a driveway on Turner Road. The Volkswagen was later located abandoned on East Street in Morris, according to the release.
Three unknown suspects stole a dark blue 2017 Porsche Cayenne from the driveway of a home on Calhoun Street at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, police said.
State Police remind residents to not to leave valuables in the car. If they valuables must be kept in there, residents are reminded to lock them up, keep them out of sight and bring the keys inside.
