Pair made false statements after Milford assault, police say

Milford Police say they have arrested two people in connection with a May 5 assault witnessed by a child. 

Police said they arrested Milford residents Anthony Penawell, 24, and Tiffany Wolfe, 32, after Penawell assaulted someone in a parking lot on North Walnut Street.

The victim reported the incident to police and was transported to Bayhealth Medical Center to be treated for injuries, police said. A child witnessed the assault, police said. 

Police arrested Penawell and Wolfe later on May 5. Police said both provided false statements to investigators.

Penawell was charged with second-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, providing a false statement to law enforcement and second-degree conspiracy. 

Wolfe was charged with second-degree conspiracy and providing a false statement.
