The CW has released the trailer for its upcoming high school football drama All American, and it looks like it could satisfy fans of both Friday Night Lights and The O.C.
Inspired by the life of NFL linebacker Spencer Paysinger, All American tells the story of a high school football star from Compton named Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) who gets recruited to play for Beverly Hills High School by the head coach Billy Baker (Taye Diggs). He has to navigate two worlds: the Southside hood he's always known,and the affluent Beverly Hills school that offers him a shot at something bigger but is filled with dangers of its own. It's like The Blind Side but sexy.
CW godfather Greg Berlanti is an executive producer, and Reign's April Blair is the showrunner.

All American will air Wednesdays at 9/8c -- after Riverdale -- on The CW this fall.
